calico visual identity

Between 1980 and 1982, I worked on the Design and Management of Corporate Identity Programme for Calico group of companies.
My consultant was Ivan Chermayeff (Chermayeff & Geismar). The new trademark was Ivan's design.

I also designed a new typeface based on the trademark for the exclusive use by Calico.
Internal communication material including forms and stationery which had grown to huge numbers over a hundred years was streamlined. An animation film for its launch was also produced.

This was a comprehensive programme of developing a new identity and implementing it within all areas of the company’s operations and was facilitated by my coordinating with Kartikeya Sarabhai who sat on the board of the corporation.

Seen below are some pages from the implementation manuals.

  1. Corporate identity logos give the character to an organization and increase the likelihood of its success. It must be designed, keeping in mind the business goals and objectives to maintain the confidence of your client base or customers. Graphic design designers working for a company's new business identity package usually include design of logos, envelope & business card layout and several other back up elements.See more corporate identity inspiration
